The Irregular Clutter Update Companion #1
We’ve neglected to update the Clutter blog recently — our excuse being we’ve been too busy furiously hacking on clutter trunk, aiming to get a new stable 0.4 release out for the summer. We hope to have an initial unstable developer 0.3 release out very soon followed hopefully closely by the 0.4 stable release. Clutter trunk has many many new features now including OpenGL ES support, switchable backend support (with support for GLX, SDL and EGL), new actors, new behaviours and more.
Neil has been hacking on ‘fluttr’ a Clutter front end to Flickr;
Fluttr in action
See Neils blog post for more information on getting and building Fluttr. Together with Fluttr there are a number of other ‘experiments’ in toys in SVN. Mostly experimental code, toying with the Clutter API included are OPT, a slideshow program and Woohaa, a movie player.
External to our developments in Clutter toys, another new application is ‘Sofa‘. Sofa is described as;
“Sofa is a Media Center. It is aimed at easy usage, minimal configuration and total integration with the Gnome desktop environment and existing multimedia applications.”
Sofa is authored by Pierre-Luc Beaudoin and its available at sourceforge, here.
Finally, If you want to learn more about Clutter, there will be a presentation on Clutter at this years GUADEC, happening on July 15th to 21st in Birmingham, UK.

Just wanted to note that there is a small misspelling in ‘clutter trunk’ link and it doesn’t work.
Great work with Clutter! This seems to get better and better. Pigment team, watch out!
